Hey, I'm Far!

I love homemaking and creating spaces that feel good—cozy and lived in. Around here, you’ll usually find me with a hot coffee in the early mornings, chasing tiny feet, fixing up our 1949 Cape, and dreaming up the next project. Oh—and of course, sharing all my favorite finds with you along the way!

Our Cozy Dining Room Refresh

If there’s one thing our home has taught me, it’s that sometimes it takes a few tries to get a room just right. Our dining room is the perfect example — this was our second attempt, and honestly? I think it now looks amazing.

The White Phase (and Why It Didn’t Last)

When we first painted the dining room white, it felt like the right move. Bright, clean, fresh — all the things you’re “supposed” to want. But almost immediately, I knew it wasn’t the end of the story.

White walls have a way of whispering to me, “Add wallpaper.” And while I love wallpaper (deeply), it also feels like a bigger commitment — both financially and mentally — than I was ready for right now. Between the cost, the install, and the “what if I change my mind?” factor, I just wasn’t there yet.

So instead of forcing a decision I wasn’t confident about, I paused.

Choosing Warmth Over Perfection

What the space was really missing wasn’t pattern — it was warmth.

The dining room is where we linger longer than planned, where morning light spills in softly from the adjacent rooms, and where dinner conversations stretch into the evening. It needed to feel cozy at all times of day.

That’s when I decided to change up the paint color instead.

My Favorite Warm Beige (Yes, Again)

I went with my all-time favorite warm beige — the same one I’ve already used in our living room and kitchen. And honestly? I have zero regrets about repeating a color when it works so well!

There’s something so comforting about a shade that flows throughout a home. It creates cohesion without trying too hard, and this particular beige has the prettiest undertones. Never too yellow. Never too gray. Just soft, warm, and sweet like honey.

The moment it went on the walls, the room transformed.

A Room That Feels Cozy All Day Long

What I love most is how the dining room feels now:

  • Warm and inviting in the morning light
  • Soft and cozy during the afternoon
  • Extra intimate and glowy at night

It finally feels like a space you want to sit in, not just pass through. Where time slows down for just a moment for us to exhale and enjoy life and eachother’s company just a little bit more.

Before & After: Proof That Paint Matters

Sometimes the simplest change makes the biggest difference. No major renovation. No wallpaper commitment. Just the right paint color doing all the heavy lifting.

Lessons Learned (Again)

If you’re in a season where you’re:

  • Not ready to commit to wallpaper
  • Working within a budget
  • Wanting cozy without overdoing it

Let this be your sign to rethink paint before anything else.

This third attempt reminded me that homes evolve just like we do. You don’t have to get it perfect the first time — or even the second. Sometimes the charm really does come from evolving.

And for now? I can’t get enough of this cozy dining room.
